I'd lie awake at night, unable to sleep with my mind racing. I'd wake up each morning totally exhausted.

I was feeling so stressed due to work. I had lost weight, I was anxious, and my right hand developed a shake, I couldn't hold a cup of tea without it spilling over. At this point I knew I needed to get it checked out.

I went to my GP and was diagnosed with Graves' disease. It's an autoimmune condition that causes my thyroid to be ‘overactive’. I was told to take the medication and hope for the best, and that I'd more than likely need to get my thyroid taken out.

I decided to take action and take my health into my own hands. I changed my diet and lifestyle so that I could avoid surgery and possibly more issues with my thyroid.

Now I feel amazing! I love my life, eat real food, manage my stress levels and make sure that I get enough sleep. I feel like a totally different version of the me that was diagnosed.
